The Refinery Church - Core Beliefs
“See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” — Isaiah 48:10
We believe God is not just saving people—He is refining them.
The Refinery exists because transformation is not optional in the Kingdom of God. We are not called to stay the same. Through the Word of God, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the pressures of life, God purifies, shapes, and strengthens His people.
Like gold in a fire, what is impure rises to the surface so it can be removed. What remains is something stronger, purer, and fit for His purpose.
We are not here for comfort. We are here for transformation. To be shaped into a vessel he can use, for his glory alone.
Jesus Christ - The Son of God
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He has always existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and through Him all things were created
For the redemption of humanity, He left heaven, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He became fully man while remaining fully God-one Christ with two natures, united in one person.
Jesus lived without sin, died on the cross for the sins of the world, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended to the right hand of the Father.
He is not a way-He is the only way.
He is the only Savior of mankind, and He will return in glory.
The Bible - The Word of God
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
Scripture is not a suggestion-it is the standard.
It is the final authority for faith and life. Nothing can be added to it, taken from it, or used to override it.
The Word of God corrects us, instructs us, and reveals truth. Through it, we see clearly who God is, who we are, and the path we are called to walk.
The Trinity
We believe there is one true and living God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
One God. Three persons. No confusion. No division.
Each is fully God, equal in power and glory, yet distinct in person.
This is not a concept we created-it is a truth God revealed, and the Church has stood on it for generations.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God-the Lord and giver of life.
He was active in creation, present throughout the Old Testament, and poured out in power at Pentecost.
He convicts of sin, leads people to salvation, and dwells within every follower.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to live differently-to walk in holiness, boldness, and truth.
He sanctifies us, shapes us, and conforms us into the image of Christ.
Scripture calls us to live continually filled with his spirit, allowing his power to transform us daily into the image of Christ likeness.
Where the Spirit is active, transformation follows.
We are here to be the church.
We are here to be refined-by His Word, by His Spirit, and for His glory.
